Mentors guide us.
Mentors aren’t tormentors. They are not your drill masters. Drill masters are necessary, but it’s not a mentor’s job to build your muscles, strategies, and disciplines. Mentors help you shift mindsets.
They tell you there is another way. They show you doors you can open, but it’s up to you to choose which one. I remember when I started my speaking career, my mentor showed me the value of pricing my speeches.
He explained that how I price my speeches influences how others see me. I learned from his stories. But the decision to increase my fees was my choice.
When I increased my fees five times, my clients doubled. This was a powerful lesson for me. My mentor didn’t force me; he guided me.
I’m always thankful to my mentors. They provide insights and perspectives that help me grow. They don’t just tell me what to do; they help me see new possibilities.
So, remember, mentors are there to guide and inspire. They help you find your path and make your own choices.
