  • Why be mentors?

Posted by Jef Menguin on August 5, 2024 at 8:00 am

There was a time when we expected our managers to become our mentors. We celebrate managers who made a difference in our lives. Some taught us the value of putting our signature on everything we do. Others taught us discipline and helped us realize how capable we are.

It’s important to celebrate these managers. They made a positive impact on us. We should aim to be like them to those we lead. We’ve learned much from them and had unique experiences.

We can offer new things to others. We’re not just passing on what we learned. We’re giving something of ourselves, something new and unique.

Being a mentor to others means sharing a part of you. It’s about giving your own experiences and insights. This makes your mentorship special.

So, yes, be a mentor to others. Help them grow and realize their potential. It’s a rewarding journey for both of you.
